Join the Tomato Producers Cooperative of Zimbabwe

Let’s Make Tomatoes Work for You

Tomato farming is one of Zimbabwe’s promising agricultural opportunities. Our country’s climate and soils provide ideal conditions to grow fresh, high-quality tomatoes. Yet many tomato farmers struggle to access markets, proper farming equipment, and the right support. That’s why the Tomato Growers Cooperative of Zimbabwe was established — to help local tomato producers grow their businesses and earn better incomes.

The Cooperative unites small and large tomato farmers from all over Zimbabwe. Whether you are already growing tomatoes or want to start, the Cooperative offers you a home — a place where you are supported, trained, and empowered to succeed.

Why We Started the Cooperative

Many Zimbabweans produce tomatoes, but most do so on a small scale. Often they sell their tomatoes to middlemen at low prices. Access to quality seeds, irrigation equipment, packaging, and branding is limited, and opportunities to sell beyond local markets are rare. We believe that by working together as producers, we can build one strong brand, share resources, and sell more tomatoes at better prices — including to markets outside Zimbabwe.

What You Get as a Member

When you join the Cooperative, you become part of a community. You will receive training in modern tomato farming practices so you can increase your yields and improve quality. You’ll learn about soil management, pest control, irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. We also help members access inputs like seeds, fertilizers, irrigation tools, and packaging materials — things often too costly to obtain alone.

The Cooperative also helps find reliable markets for your tomatoes. Instead of selling your tomatoes individually, we combine the produce from all our members and sell it in bulk to supermarkets, processors, and even export markets. This means more sales, more income, and greater stability.

We Are Building for the Future

We are working on establishing tomato processing and packaging centres around the country. These centres will help us clean, sort, and package tomatoes properly so they meet market and export standards. We want Zimbabwean tomatoes to be recognized worldwide for their quality.

To make this vision a reality, we are raising funds through a debenture scheme — a way for people to invest in the Cooperative and earn interest on their money. Each debenture costs just US$1, with 10% interest paid annually for three years. After three years, investors get their money back. This funding will help us buy equipment, build processing centres, and expand faster. You can invest and earn — even if you’re not a tomato farmer.

Why You Should Join

If you’re a tomato farmer or want to become one, this Cooperative is for you. It’s affordable to join, and you don’t have to do it alone. You get support, training, access to inputs and equipment, and a ready market. You also get a voice in how the Cooperative is run — this is your business too. You’re not just a supplier; you’re a member-owner.

We believe in working together, building together, and sharing the rewards. Our tomatoes can change lives, feed families, and grow Zimbabwe’s economy.

How to Join

It’s easy. Just contact us by email or WhatsApp and we will guide you through the registration process. You’ll need to pay a small joining fee and a monthly subscription to keep your membership active. You can also visit our office in Harare.
