Join the Sunflower Producers Cooperative of Zimbabwe

Let’s Make Sunflowers Work for You

Sunflower farming is one of the hidden treasures in Zimbabwe. Our country has the perfect climate and land to grow high-quality sunflowers with excellent oil content. But many farmers struggle to find markets, access affordable equipment, or get the right kind of support. That’s why the Sunflower Producers Cooperative of Zimbabwe was started — to help local sunflower farmers grow their businesses and earn better incomes.

The Cooperative brings together small and large sunflower producers from across the country. Whether you are already farming sunflowers or want to start, the Cooperative gives you a home — a place where you are supported, trained, and helped to succeed.

Why We Started the Cooperative

Many Zimbabweans are already farming sunflowers, but most do it on a small scale. They often sell raw sunflower seeds to middlemen at low prices. There’s limited access to oil-pressing equipment, no packaging or branding, and almost no chance to sell in big shops or export. We believe that if we work together as producers, we can create one strong brand, share resources, and sell sunflower oil and other products at better prices — even to markets outside Zimbabwe.

What You Get as a Member

When you join the Cooperative, you become part of a community. You will receive training in modern sunflower farming so you can increase your yield and quality. You’ll learn about the best seed varieties, planting techniques, soil fertility, and harvesting methods. We also help members access inputs and equipment — like hybrid seed, fertilizers, harvesting tools, and oil pressing machines — things that are often too expensive to buy alone.

The Cooperative also helps you find a market for your produce. Instead of selling your sunflower seeds individually, we combine what all our members produce and process it into high-quality sunflower oil and other products. We then sell in bulk to supermarkets, companies, and even for export. This means more sales, more income, and more stability.

We Are Building for the Future

We’re now working on setting up sunflower oil processing and packaging centres around the country. These centres will help us extract, clean, bottle, and brand sunflower oil so it can be sold in major stores and exported. We want Zimbabwean sunflower oil to be recognised around the world for its purity and quality.

To make this dream a reality, we are raising money through what is called a debenture — this is a way for people to invest in the Cooperative and get interest on their money. Each debenture costs just US$1, and you get 10% interest every year for three years. After three years, you get your money back. This money will help us buy processing equipment, build oil centres, and grow faster. You can invest and earn — even if you are not a sunflower farmer.

Why You Should Join

If you’re a sunflower farmer or want to become one, this Cooperative is for you. It’s affordable to join, and you don’t have to do it alone. You get support, training, access to equipment, and a ready market. You also get a say in how the Cooperative is run — this is your business too. You are not just a grower or supplier — you are a member-owner.

We believe in working together, building together, and sharing the rewards. Our sunflower crop can change lives, feed families, and grow our country’s economy.

How to Join

It’s easy. Just contact us by email or WhatsApp, and we will guide you through the registration process. You’ll need to pay a small joining fee and a monthly subscription to keep your membership active. You can also visit our office in Harare.
