Join the Millet Producers Cooperative of Zimbabwe

Let’s Make Millet Work for You

Millet farming is one of Zimbabwe’s hidden treasures. Our country has the perfect climate and soil to grow high-quality millet that is nutritious and resilient. Yet many farmers struggle to find reliable markets, access affordable equipment, or get the right support to grow their millet businesses. That’s why the Millet Producers Cooperative of Zimbabwe was created — to help local millet farmers improve their yields and earn better incomes.

The Cooperative unites small and large millet producers from across the country. Whether you are already farming millet or want to start, the Cooperative gives you a home — a place where you are supported, trained, and empowered to succeed.

Why We Started the Cooperative

Many Zimbabweans grow millet, mostly on a small scale, and often sell raw grains to middlemen at low prices. There is limited access to modern processing equipment, no packaging or branding, and few opportunities to sell in big shops or export markets. We believe that by working together as producers, we can build a strong brand, pool resources, and sell millet and millet products at better prices — even beyond Zimbabwe’s borders.

What You Get as a Member

When you join the Cooperative, you become part of a community. You will receive training in modern millet farming to boost your yield and grain quality. You’ll learn about the best millet varieties, planting techniques, soil management, and harvesting methods. We also help members access inputs and equipment — like improved seed, fertilizers, harvesting tools, and milling machines — resources often too expensive to acquire alone.

The Cooperative also helps you find a market for your millet. Instead of selling your grains individually, we aggregate production from all members and process it into high-quality millet flour and other value-added products. We then sell in bulk to supermarkets, companies, and export markets. This means more sales, more income, and greater stability.

We Are Building for the Future

We are working on establishing millet processing and packaging centres nationwide. These centres will help us clean, mill, package, and brand millet products so they can be sold in major stores and exported. Our goal is for Zimbabwean millet products to be recognised for their quality and health benefits worldwide.

To make this vision a reality, we are raising funds through a debenture program — a way for people to invest in the Cooperative and earn interest on their investment. Each debenture costs just US$1, paying 10% interest annually for three years, after which you get your money back. This funding will help us buy processing equipment, build milling centres, and expand faster. Anyone can invest and earn — whether or not they are millet farmers.

Why You Should Join

If you’re a millet farmer or want to become one, this Cooperative is for you. Joining is affordable and you get to grow with others. You receive training, access to equipment, and a guaranteed market. Plus, you have a voice in running the Cooperative — this is your business too. You are not just a grower; you are an owner.

We believe in working together, building together, and sharing success. Millet farming can transform lives, feed families, and grow Zimbabwe’s economy.
