I am Mike Duru, President of both the Zimbabwe National Association of Housing Cooperatives (ZINAHCO) and the Zimbabwe National Cooperative Federation (ZNCF). For over two decades, I have dedicated myself to advancing the cooperative movement in Zimbabwe, leading large-scale housing projects, pioneering member-owned health initiatives, and advocating for policies that empower marginalized communities, including women and youth. Serving also on the Board of Cooperative Housing International, I strive to share Zimbabwe’s cooperative experiences globally while ensuring that our local cooperatives thrive sustainably, create opportunities, and drive inclusive socio-economic development across the country.
