Central Association of Cooperative Unions Limited was registered in 1972 under the Cooperative Act which was repealed to Act 24:05. Its core business was and is still to sell and distribute agricultural inputs and marketing of the agricultural produce. The organization has been in this business since early 1950s and has vast experience in the business of distributing the inputs and sourcing of inputs for its members. It also markets the outputs of the farmers. The Union is an Agricultural, Marketing and Supply co-operative which was registered in 1972. CACU is made up of 23 Unions which are Mt Darwin-Rushinga, Bindura Chiweshe Shamva, Guruve In Mashonaland Central, Central Mashonaland Cooperative Union in Mashonaland East, Masvingo Cooperative Union in Masvingo Province, Mberengwa Coop, Mashambanzou Coop, Mutora, and Somabula in Midlands, Rusape Coop, Nyanga Coop, Mutare Gumwe and Mutasa in Manicaland, Lupane and Nkayi in Matebeland North, Negomo, Macheke, Mutasa Rural,Mutasa Gumwe, and Siyampabili –Gwanda in Matebeland South.
